My primary scholarship has been scholarship of discovery. While this page lists my overall contributions to scholarship, I have specifically contributed to discovery in the following ways:

• My Ph.D. dissertation discovered the ways classical eighth-century prophetic texts discussed the cosmic relationship between the non-human world and eschatological thought. My research examined salient passages within the books of Amos, Hosea, and First Isaiah in order to understand how human sin affects the interrelatedness of the created order and the ensuing cosmic implications of prophetic eschatology; that is, how God’s judgement and redemption involve the whole cosmos. A close reading of these passages revealed the prominent role the non-human creation plays in both judgement and eschatological acts. My thesis concluded that YHWH is committed not only to humanity but also to the non-human creation, empowering her and partnering with her to bring renewal to the cosmological order. I successfully defended my dissertation in May 2024.

• At the annual Wesley Theology Society meeting in March 2026, I presented a paper on animal consumption in the book of Leviticus (below). According to Leviticus 17:3-4, the act of killing a domesticated animal for consumption without first ritually presenting it as an offering before YHWH was considered bloodshed—morally equivalent to murdering a human. This practice reveals Israel’s understanding of holiness as a communal identity that does not merely include God and Israel, but also includes creation, particularly animals. This paper explored the ways in which Israel sought to honor the lives of the animals they ate and how this attitude toward animals shaped their understanding of holiness.

• At the One-Day Theology Conference 2023 at Nazarene Theological College in Manchester, I presented a paper (below) that examined the eschatological role of animals in First Isaiah. The paper demonstrated the prophet's portrayal of interdependent relationships between animals, humans, and YHWH. This paper proposed that, unlike other voices that envision the removal of wild animals for human flourishing, First Isaiah pronounces both the inclusion and the transformation of the animal kingdom. 

• In 2022, I contributed a chapter on the Old Testament's lament tradition in The Old Testament in 12 Verses. My chapter examined Psalm 13 as an example of the importance and prominence of lament for both the Israelites and the Church today.
